Seiko industrial print head is the right print head for UV flatbed printer 

The comparison between Seiko and Epson print head

1. Long life of print head: Seiko print heads with a service life of 1.5-3 years. That is why we choose them for our UV flatbed printers and didn't sellect the Epson head, although Epson print head is cheaper. Because Epson head usually causes jam problems when it print with UV ink. Its life span will not be more than 3 months. 
2. Long time working: Seiko print head can keep 24-hour continuously working without problems, Epson print heads can't keep a continous working.
3. High print speed, but don't lose print quality: Our UV flatbed printer with Seiko industrial grade print heads, the max speed is 36 sqm/h. If higher speed is need, no problem. Fix 6+6 print heads in the printhead carrier, and make the print speed up to 72 sqm/h. But Epson print heads can't reach to such speed.
4. 3D and embossing effect: These printing effects are not able to be done by Epson printhead.

Generally says Epson print head focus on the print quality of pictures, but it is not suitable for industrial printing, not suitable for UV ink. 

The comparison between Seiko and Ricoh print head

1.The most important thing is that the price of Ricoh printhead is more expensive, relatively the price of UV flatbed printer will cost more money.
2.The featured characteristic of Ricoh print head is one head controls 2 colors. It usually makes troubles for washing the print head and limits its service life . Contrastly, Seiko head is not with this problem.
3.The third important thing is Ricoh print head can’t print a picture with embossing effect.
4.The fixed FPC of Ricoh head can be easily broken, also is a shortage of this print head.

Although Ricoh print heads is better than Epson heads for industry use, and it does have high printing speed and high quality printing, we still sellected Seiko print head for our UV flatbed printer. Because Seiko print head is economy, high printing quality, high printing speed and can print out an embossing effect. Seiko industrial print head is the most used print head for UV printing machine. Almost 70% UV flatbed printers are carried with Seiko print heads. 




Generly, when choosing a print head for UV flatbed printer must make an overall condsideration.
