How long can we get back the investment for making background wall by UV flatbed printer?
The below data is from a real Chinese individual business workshop.
1. Total cost
The total cost including Equipment, consuming materials and labor.
1.1 Equipment
- UV flatbed printer: One unit, price US$26800, serve for more than 8 years;
- CNC engraver: One unit, price US$6200, serve for more than 8 years;
- Control and picture design computer (PC): One unit, price US$750.
- Total cost of equipment: US$33,750.
1.2 Consuming materials
1.2.1 UV ink: price US$60.00/Litre, 1 litre UV ink can be printed with 80-100 square meter of materials, thus the printing cost for one square meter is around US$0.75.
1.2.2 Coating ink: price US$40.00/Litre (It might be cheaper from your local market), 1 litre coating ink can be coated with 25-30 square meter of materials, thus the coating cost for one square meter is around US$1.6.
1.2.3 Total cost of consuming material is US$2.35/sqm.
1.3 Labor cost
By using UV flatbed printer, the labor will be cut down to 1-2 compare to traditional printing process.

2. Profit
The price of ceramic tile background wall in Chinese market is US$65-125/sqm, different kind of ceramic tiles usually with different price. The following calculation is based on the price of background wall with fully glazed ceramic + finely engraved. Its price is around US$110/sqm.

Definitely, the investment of equipment will be back in 20 working days (one month). It is really a very high incomming business for both an individual workshop and company.

Print a 3D wall by UV flatbed printer
Today 3D wall is a very popular product in home decor field, because of its 3D sight visual and reality feeling sense. Many many people like to print a 3D pircture on their home wall. But the traditional process is to print 3D pictures on papers, then paste on the walls. The main problem of this solution is that papers cannot keep a long time one the wall, it may tear down in one year. So a new solution is needed to improve the situation. Seiko industrial print head is the right print head for UV flatbed printer
The comparison between Seiko and Epson print head
2. Long time working: Seiko print head can keep 24-hour continuously working without problems, Epson print heads can't keep a continous working.
3. High print speed, but don't lose print quality: Our UV flatbed printer with Seiko industrial grade print heads, the max speed is 36 sqm/h. If higher speed is need, no problem. Fix 6+6 print heads in the printhead carrier, and make the print speed up to 72 sqm/h. But Epson print heads can't reach to such speed.
4. 3D and embossing effect: These printing effects are not able to be done by Epson printhead.
Generally says Epson print head focus on the print quality of pictures, but it is not suitable for industrial printing, not suitable for UV ink.
The comparison between Seiko and Ricoh print head
2.The featured characteristic of Ricoh print head is one head controls 2 colors. It usually makes troubles for washing the print head and limits its service life . Contrastly, Seiko head is not with this problem.
3.The third important thing is Ricoh print head can’t print a picture with embossing effect.
4.The fixed FPC of Ricoh head can be easily broken, also is a shortage of this print head.

products, such as calendars, notebooks, handbags, suitcase, backpacks, T-shirt
